Concrete and Asphalt Equipment Operator (MOS 12V) Description / Major Duties:
The concrete and asphalt equipment operator supervises or operates all equipment used in concrete and asphalt production and paving.
Duties for MOS 12V at each skill level are:
MOSC 12V1O. Produces concrete with concrete mobile mixer. Assist in the erection and operation of asphalt producing plant. Operates asphalt distributor, aggregate spreader and asphalt kettle. Assist in operation of asphalt paving and surfacing equipment. Assist in performance of combat engineer missions.
MOSC 12V20. Erects and operates asphalt plant for the production of hot mix asphalt. Sets up and operates asphalt laydown equipment to meet desired asphalt specifications.
MOSC 12V30. Directs employment of concrete mobile mixer. Plans and directs layout and erection of asphalt plant. Supervise production of hot mix asphalt. Directs asphalt laydown and rolling operations. Directs combat engineering missions.
Other Requirements for Award of MOS 12V:
(1) Red / green color discrimination.
(2) Must possess a valid state motor vehicle operator license.
(3) Mandatory formal training (completion of MOS 21V10 course conducted
under auspices of U.S. Army Engineer School) or meet the ACASP criteria per paragraphs (a) and (b) below.
(a) Must have 2 years of experience or combination of formal training
and experience totaling 2 years in concrete or asphalt paving operations.
(b) Must have valid state motor vehicle license.
